LEDAHF Working With Municipalities on Green Energy Initiatives: Cordele, GA -- The ever-increasing demand for fossil fuels coupled with the looming long-term effects of global warming has presented a new opportunity for LEDAHF. Several municipalities in Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia have reached out to LEDAHF to assist in researching and recruiting green energy production sources to their areas. Central to this push is cellulosic ethanol production using pulp derivatives as a primary feedstock.
LEDAHF is partnering with these jurisdictions that have an abundance of pulp production. The partnership is working with research universities regarding the enzymatic fermentation process and the optimal tree design. |

LEDAHF Serves as Project Manager for Orange County, NC Senior Center: Chapel Hill, NC - LEDAHF, Inc. will serve as the Project Manager for Orange County, NC for the construction of the new 25,000 square foot Seymour Senior Center on Homestead Road in Southern Orange County. This appointment is welcomed as LEDAHF and Orange County continue to work together in a mutually beneficial way.

LEDAHF Selected for Loan Origination and Estimating Services for USDA 504 Loan Program: Belmont, NC -- LEDAHF is partnering with USDA Rural Development in its innovative 504 home repair loan program for low income individuals in central North Carolina.
LEDAHF will market, originate, and provide cost estimation and case management services for the program which provides low interest loans for vital repairs to existing housing stock. "The 504 program brings home repair dollars to folks who would otherwise not be able to make basic repairs," states Jeff Thompson, Executive Director of LEDAHF. "Basic issues such as roof repair, replacement windows, significant foundation and infrastructure repair are possible for this income level--repayment is over 20 years and amounts to $4.60 per month per $1000 borrowed."
LEDAHF will focus on the needs of Gaston County citizens. It's agreement with USDA encompasses all areas in North Carolina, but will builds its program locally. |

Orange County Commissioners Approve Plan for Central Orange Senior Center and Sportsplex: Hillsborough, NC - The Orange County Board of Commissioners approved a plan to purchase the 85,000 square foot Triangle Sportsplex and related property. The County will renovate the facility and will add an estimated 15,000 square foot Senior Center.
LEDAHF, Inc. formulated the structure for this acquisition and land use plan for the benefit of Orange County.
Over the next several months, the County will work with LEDAHF to appoint a professional manager for the city. |

LEDAHF Supportive Housing Update: LEDAHF has embarked on an innovative program designed to link those seeking affordable housing to residential Property Managers seeking qualified tenants.
LEDAHF provides advocacy services to individuals and families who may have difficulty working toward a mutually beneficial situation with those Property Managers offering quality affordable rental housing. This advocacy is allowing Property Managers and Landlords who would not otherwise rent to these individuals and families offer quality housing and meet higher occupancy levels.
Additionally, LEDAHF is working with other housing agencies and faith-based groups to raise funds to rehabilitate housing units to add to the inventory of these Supportive Housing Units.
